Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
With its tremendous depth of flavors and texture, the 2019 Pellegrini Russian River Valley Pinot Noir provides a wonderful showcase of the benefits of blending fruit from neighboring Pinot Noir vineyards. Popping out of the glass into the nose are plum, brambles, lavender, and crème caramel. Its chewy texture provides structure for notes of bing cherry, pomegranate, mocha, and pistachio, harmonized by hints of leather and pine.
Vineyard Notes
Originating from many of our favorite vineyards in the AVA, our Russian River Valley Pinot Noir includes portions from Bazzano, Seven Mules, Hallberg Vineyards.
Winemaker Notes
Every year, the day we blend the Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is always one of the most exciting. Seven Mules and Hallberg, being single vineyard wines for us, obviously bring an immense amount of density of flavor to the table but did not leave the Bazzano Vineyard in the dust by any means. This wine also provides a proving ground for new barrels which may be able to some day in the future make their way into our single-vineyard Pinot Noir programs, providing some extra spicy tones to be found.
Food Pairing Notes
Try with steak au poivre, cassoulet, beef tagine.
