Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Our 2019 Russian River Valley Rosé, comprised of 90% Pinot Noir complemented by 10% Carignane, features interwoven aromas of peach, light raspberry, strawberries and cream, leaping from the glass. Upon first sip, one is immersed in strawberry rhubarb pie, complemented by lighter baking spices and a finish full of ripe apricot and tarragon.
Production Notes
The 2019 Rosé is comprised of fruit from three different vineyards throughout the Russian River Valley, allowing for the artistry of our winemaking team to come center stage. All three lots were farmed especially for Rosé and were immediately pressed upon arrival at the winery. A blend of saignée & direct pressed grapes, we developed a press cycle in-house that creates juice with tremendous bouquet while limiting overly bitter flavors. Each lot was inoculated with a different yeast and fermented separately.
Winemaker Notes
Upon arrival at the winery after harvest, grapes were foot treaded and allowed to sit on the skins for 2 hours in the press, in order to absorb some color. Using our unique press cycle, juice is gently pressed from the fruit, limiting the bitter phenolics which may come at the end of a standard pressing. Stabulation was executed for one week in order to promote round texture and tropical flavors. Saignee juice was added throughout the stabulation and fermentation process to fill out the blend. This wine is bottled in December in order to best preserve its fresh beautiful aromas and flavors.
